Dust on the Tumeric
In the last year, I’ve been pouring on the Tumeric (or Curcurma) into my raw soups. There are just too many new studies out there now to not. Of course, if you are a curry fan, like myself, we have already been taking in this wonderful spice as it is the key ingredient in curry powder – the one that makes all things yellow! But for centuries, Tumeric has been used medicinally in India for a load of ills. And now, scientists are just beginning to discover how much this wonder spice can help in some serious illnesses. Not only is it antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, but it now has been shown to be a powerhouse in the fight against cancer. It’s actually quite amazing what has been discovered about Tumeric in the last year or two. I’m sure you have seen articles more frequently now, as more research is being done. I expect it to become more mainstream in the next while.
Today, I made a raw soup:
1 cup baby bok choy
1tbsp raw barley miso
1tbsp fresh chopped ginger
1 tbsp Tumeric
1 cup H2O
This concoction is not only anti-inflammatory, but will help to kill off anything bacterial that shouldn’t be in le system 😉 (not to mention a nice glow of the skin)
So, don’t be scared, and embrace the beautiful yellow spice that is Tumeric! Check out the link below for more info. I’m sure you’ll be dousing your soups and sauces with it as much as I do! Happy sprinkling!
