So it’s come to this….again…
It’s Friday! I hope you have a chance this weekend to try my new ‘Sexy Legs’ workout http://youtu.be/yKsZWGo64Zc and let me know what it was like for you 😉
But, in the meantime…here’s the latest on the pill poppin’ front…
With the whole Phen-fen fiasco, you would think that lifestyle change, awareness, and the formation of new healthy habits, would be the better prescription for obesity. But alas, another ‘quick fix’ is being released.
Enter, Belviq, the latest obesity ‘cure’. Here’s a drug that causes tumors in small animals, with side effects of: headaches, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, dry-mouth, constipation (i suppose that’s better than the ‘anal leakage’ of other popular weight-loss medications;), back pain, coughs, and of course, depression.
To manipulate the body’s natural weight control system has been proven in the past to take it’s toll on the heart, not to mention one’s metabolism. So shouldn’t the focus be more towards the root of the problem of one’s obesity?
Studies have shown over and over that one of the most beneficial and successful antidotes for depression, not to mention obesity, is EXERCISE. Add in a healthy diet of clean-eating, filled with B vitamins (which are essential to our mental and emotional health), and we are well on the path to a balanced, slimmed-down, healthier & happier lifestyle, which, in my opinion, is probably the better long-term cure.
Or, you can pop a little blue pill, have a constant headache and backache, bad breath, constipation, and feel suicidal…..
Have a read at the BBC link below, and tell me what you think, would you choose the easy way? 😉
